Workout games by body area: legs, arms, core and cardio
Updated 26 October 2026 · 6 min read
Every BodyArcade game is filed under one to three body areas, and the app lets you filter by them. This page goes through the areas one by one: the games in each, how long a round lasts and what the camera reads. These are bodyweight games, so none of them adds resistance.

The areas at a glance
Every game is filed under one to three areas, and all 11 games are in the seated list, because every game can be played from a chair. A quiet mode, with no jumping and no stamping, is in 10 of the 11 games; Road Run is the one without it.
| Area | Games | Which |
|---|---|---|
| Legs and hips | 5 | Squat Flap, Knee Sprint, Summit Climb, Pose Wall and Road Run |
| Arms and shoulders | 5 | Star Catch, Pad Work, Reaction Tag, Summit Climb and Pose Wall |
| Chest and back | 1 | Summit Climb |
| Core | 3 | Pad Work, Twist Turbine and Limbo Bend |
| Cardio | 4 | Knee Sprint, Reaction Tag, Firework Jacks and Road Run |
| Mobility and balance | 2 | Limbo Bend and Pose Wall |
| Seated | 11 | Squat Flap, Knee Sprint, Star Catch, Pad Work, Reaction Tag, Firework Jacks, Twist Turbine, Summit Climb, Limbo Bend, Pose Wall and Road Run |
Legs and hips
Squats, knee lifts, jumps and shapes that use the legs. Your own body weight is the only load, so think of these as leg work with some cardio in it, not as strength training.
- Squat Flap (Free, about 5 minutes). The camera reads how deep your hips drop and how fast you stand up; the pace of your squats, to space the columns for you.
- Knee Sprint (Free, 3 minutes). The camera reads how high each knee comes up and how often; whether your legs go in turn, and when you jump at a hurdle.
- Summit Climb (Free, 5 minutes). The camera reads how high each hand reaches and how far you pull it; whether your hands take turns, and which way you lean.
- Pose Wall (Free, about 4 minutes). The camera reads the direction of your arms, legs, trunk and head against the shape, limb by limb; how long you hold it: at least 0.3 s in the last 0.8 s before the wall.
- Road Run (Free, 90 seconds). The camera reads whether you jumped, ducked or leaned, and when.

Arms and shoulders
Reaching, tapping, punching and pulling. The games that need only your upper body in view also work at a desk.
- Star Catch (Free, about 3 minutes). The camera reads where your hands are in the picture, left and right; whether you reach each star before it fades. It needs only your upper body in view.
- Pad Work (Pro, 7 minutes). The camera reads which pad your fist reaches, and how fast it gets there; your timing against the beat. It needs only your upper body in view.
- Reaction Tag (Pro, about 3 minutes). The camera reads how many milliseconds pass between a light and your touch; whether you tapped a green light or a red one.
- Summit Climb (Free, 5 minutes), described under Legs and hips.
- Pose Wall (Free, about 4 minutes), described under Legs and hips.
The app also has a Chest and back list. It holds one game, Summit Climb, which is also listed here: you reach up with one hand and pull it down to your shoulder, then switch hands.

Core
Twists and side bends from the waist, and boxing-style punches. The camera reads how far your shoulders turn or lean. It does not measure how hard a muscle works.
- Pad Work (Pro, 7 minutes), described under Arms and shoulders.
- Twist Turbine (Free, 3 minutes). The camera reads how far your hands travel from the centre as your shoulders turn; how many twists a minute you keep up. It needs only your upper body in view.
- Limbo Bend (Pro, 3 minutes). The camera reads the angle of your upper body against the vertical; whether your hips stay still and you do not fold forward. It needs only your upper body in view.

Cardio
Games that keep you moving: jumping jacks, running on the spot, quick taps and dodges. The app rates Firework Jacks as its most intense game.
- Knee Sprint (Free, 3 minutes), described under Legs and hips.
- Reaction Tag (Pro, about 3 minutes), described under Arms and shoulders.
- Firework Jacks (Free, 4 minutes). The camera reads whether both arms go overhead and your feet come apart; how close each jack is to the beat.
- Road Run (Free, 90 seconds), described under Legs and hips.

Mobility and balance
Slow, controlled bends and held shapes. The app files these under “Mobility and balance”. We make no claim that they improve your balance, and the camera does not test it.
- Limbo Bend (Pro, 3 minutes), described under Core.
- Pose Wall (Free, about 4 minutes), described under Legs and hips.

Questions people ask
Can I choose games by body area in the app?
Yes. The home page has a “Body region” filter, and every area has its own list at an address of its own, for example Legs and hips. The filter also has chips for seated and quiet play.
Is there a ready-made session for one area?
There are workout plans that chain games with rests between them. Legs day runs Knee Sprint, Squat Flap, Road Run and Pose Wall, about 13 minutes. Desk break is for shoulders, back and waist: Twist Turbine and Star Catch, played seated, about 6 minutes, and it is the free plan. The other plans are part of Pro.
Do the games add weight or resistance?
No. A camera cannot make you push against anything, so every game here uses your own body weight, or none at all. If you want a strength programme, use weights; BodyArcade works as a warm-up or a break.
Can I play them seated?
Yes. All 11 games have a seated version. The seated games page says how each one plays from a chair.
